The Crock of Gold, first published in 1912, is one of the great novels of the Irish Literary Renaissance, a unique work of fantasy and imagination that has long been a classic. The present edition is a facsimile reprint of the Macmillan edition of 1926, with twelve colour illustrations and numerous text decorations by Thomas MacKenzie-a fine example of the graphic style of the twenties.
