Michael Collins is one of the most famous figures in Irish history. He helped to negotiate the Treaty which allowed Britain to keep the Six Counties. Many fellow fighters refused to settle for this. This led to the Civil War and the ambush in 1922 during which Collins was killed by former comrades.
